  • Clothing and accessories are popular niches, with Zalando, Vinted, and ASOS among the top marketplaces. Homewares and electronics are also significant categories, led by marketplaces like Wayfair, ManoMano, and Newegg. (source)

  • Sharetribe is a platform that makes it super easy to create a marketplace for digital products, services, rentals and more.

  • Vinted has outsold rival Depop every year since 2019 and made around €370m in 2022 vs Depops €90m.

  • eBay is one of the OG online marketplaces and dominates its category - it makes around $10b in revenue annually.

  • Fiverr made around $330m in 2022 and is one of the most well-known service marketplaces in the world.

  • Swimmy grew to hundreds of thousands of users and millions in bookings. Swimmy lets people to rent private pools in France and Spain. Each summer season has meant considerable growth for the marketplace.

  • Landtrust connects outdoor enthusiasts with private landowners across the U.S. to build a more sustainable future for working lands. They raised a $6 million Series A funding round.
